IC135Agives your PC

four additional high-speed

serial COM ports to which

you can attach multiple

peripherals.

IC134Aor IC137A

provides one USB input and

four or seven USB outputs

for attaching serial or parallel

peripherals.

Used in conjunction with

the IC135Aor IC134A, the

IC136C supplies two USB

“A” ports to your PC.

IC138A lets you connect

a single serial peripheral to

the USB port on your PC.

Works with Windows 95

B or better. Diagnostic

software is included.

makes adding peripheral

devices to your PC easy. It

replaces all the different kinds

of serial and parallel port

connectors with one

standardized plug and port

combination. With USB-

compliant PCs and

peripherals, you just plug

them in and turn them on.

USB devices can have “A”

type ports or “B” type ports.

Typically, the “A” ports are

used at the host and the “B”

ports are used at the

peripheral device.

And if your PC does not

have a USB port, Black Box

has a PCI card that provides

this port. Order the USB Card

(part number IC136C).

Attach up to four or seven serial or parallel USB devices to

your PC with the IC134Aor IC137A.

If your PC does not have a USB port, install the IC136C and

use it with the IC134A, IC137A, or IC135A to gain additional

peripheral ports.

Typical Application

• The IC135A converts a USB

“B” port to four high-speed

serial ports, so you can

attach up to four RS-232

devices to your PC.

• The IC134A or IC137A

gives you one USB input

and four or seven USB

outputs, so you can connect

up to four or seven USB

devices to your PC.

• The IC138A lets you

connect a single old-style

serial peripheral to the USB

port on your Windows

computer.

Key Features

To take advantage of

USB’s plug-and-play

capability, your PC must be

running Windows 95 B or

better. USB devices won’t

work with Windows 95 A.

If you’re not sure if your

PC supports USB, diagnostic

software is included to help

you find out whether you’ll

need to upgrade your

software.

Other applications of USB

include attaching printers,

monitors with built-in USB

hubs, and parallel converter

cables. (Windows 98 software

has USB drivers built-in.)
