2.3 Applications

The Local Fiber Mux-6 is used mainly for point-to-point configurations where

distances of up to several kilometers are involved. A typical application is

demonstrated in Figure 2-1 where a cluster of terminals is connected to a host

computer through a single link. Different configurations are available using

dual-fiber transmission media.
